An oasis of resources

What you can see hovering over our blog post image are the most common suffixes: -tion, -ity, -er, -ness, -ism, -ment, -ant, -ship, -age, -ery We would like to recommend an oasis of resources for language learners and language teachers. It’s a great tool for language learners whose objective is to get to know some more suffixes, or word endings, in addition to the ones they are already familiar with.

As we dived into this topic, we also found that these resources are very useful for language teachers, as well. Not because teachers can learn new suffixes if they visit the website we are recommending (although, it’s not impossible that they can), but because more advanced learners and teachers can also find and learn words with a given suffix that they have never come across before.

The recommended online tool was originally made for scrabble fans.

It turns out they created one of the most practical tools for learning and teaching suffixes. It’s a great online resource that you can rely on for finding words with the same ending, for practice and vocabulary expansion.

12 letters in your browser’s title bar, that’s all it takes.

If you want to find, in 3 steps, all existing English words that end with a specific suffix, all you have to do is:

Step 1: Select your target suffix;

Step 2: Write the suffix in the search box that says “ends with”
Step 3: Click on the “find” button.
