It is celebrated on August 26th to commemorate the adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which prohibits the states from denying the right to vote to citizens on the basis of sex.
- Do you know how long American women have had the right to vote?
- And do you know that though Women’s Equality Day commemorates this milestone, it was far from what we could call equality?
